On the way from Zielona Góra to Sława, we stop in Bojadła to explore an extraordinary place - the Palace in Bojadła - a remarkable example of Baroque architecture with Rococo decorations, next to which is a palace park inviting leisurely walks and relaxation amidst the beauty of nature.
The history of the palace in Bojadła is fascinating, as it was originally built in 1707 by Adam Wacław von Kottwitz, but shortly afterward, it was damaged and destroyed by fire, only to be rebuilt once more.
This palace remained in the hands of the von Kottwitz family until 1904, when it was sold to General Reinhard von Scheffer, who renovated it. It remained in this restored state, fully intact until the end of World War II. After the war, the palace served various functions, including as a health center and an elementary school, but was eventually abandoned for a long time, contributing to its deterioration. Since 2014, it has been privately owned and is under the care of the Palace Bojadła Foundation, which is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of this unique monument in the beautiful region of Lubusz.
While in Bojadła, one must also visit the palace park located on the opposite side of the street, which was established in the first half of the 18th century. Although it could admittedly be better maintained now, it remains a beautiful place to spend a summer afternoon on romantic walks, reflecting on the history of the site, or reading a book.
Near the palace, you can also find a unique natural attraction on a regional scale - a true desert, known as the inland dunes or Cypel. You can reach there by heading toward the cemetery in Bojadła along the cemetery street on the left side.
