Lake Niesłysz

Nature in Zielona Góra, Lubusz

Lake Niesłysz is the largest lake in the Łagów Lake District, popular among residents of the Lubusz region and attracting tourists from all over Poland with its clean water, beaches, marinas, and rich infrastructure. It's perfect for sailing, diving, and family recreation.

Lake Niesłysz is one of the most popular recreational spots for the residents of the Lubusz Voivodeship, located in the Łagów Lake District. With a surface area of 520 hectares, it is the largest lake in the region. Its well-developed infrastructure and clean waters attract numerous tourists, sailing camp participants, and diving enthusiasts each year.

The lake has an irregular shape and features two large islands—Koziniec Island and Ostrowie Island—that can be reached by kayak or boat. While the shores are mostly lined with reeds, making docking a bit challenging, there are small piers along the shoreline that can be used for watercraft, which can be rented at the Kormoran center in Niesulice.

Due to its clean water and relatively deep depth (reaching a maximum of 35 meters), Lake Niesłysz is often used for training professional divers as well as civilian diving enthusiasts.

In 2023, the public beach in Niesulice underwent revitalization, with the installation of children's equipment and the construction of a new access road to the beach.

A key attraction of Niesulice is its well-developed camping facilities and leisure centers owned by various companies or private entrepreneurs. For example, at the Kormoran center, you can rent a summer cottage, enjoy a warm meal, rent water equipment, relax on a large pier, swim in a supervised bathing area with a sandy bottom and gentle slope, or have a bonfire at a specially designated area.

Lake Niesłysz also offers numerous yacht marinas and bathing areas, and during the summer season, regattas, sailing courses, diving training camps, and youth camps are organized in Przełazy, located on the northern shore of the lake.

Situated within the protected area of the Paklica and Ołobok Rift, the lake is surrounded by forests and lush vegetation untouched by civilization, and its waters are home to various species of fish and water birds.

For history enthusiasts, Niesulice is significant as it is where the Ołobok Stream ends, along which the fortifications of the Międzyrzecz Fortified Region of the Oder Line (Oderstellung) are located—German post-war military concrete structures running along the entire Ołobok to the Oder and beyond towards Czerwieńsk and Cigacice near Zielona Góra.

The MRU and Oderstellung are also covered on odkryjlubuskie.online, so we highly encourage history enthusiasts to read that article.

Access to Lake Niesłysz is possible from nearly every direction—from Świebodzin and Skąpe, from Wilków by turning off the provincial road No. 92, or from Przełazy, also turning off route No. 92. You can also reach the lake by bicycle via picturesque trails and forest paths.

Its picturesque location close to Świebodzin and Zielona Góra makes Lake Niesłysz an ideal place for relaxation and active recreation.

Not far from Niesulice, there is also the popular Kalinowe Pola golf resort, accessible via the village of Kalinowo.

We warmly encourage tourists visiting the Lubusz Voivodeship to see this beautiful lake!
