We invite you on a journey to the magical New Muskau Castle, located in Bad Muskau, right on the border with Poland in Łęknica.

The New Castle (Schloss Muskau) in the German part of the Muskau Park (Fürst-Pückler-Park Bad Muskau) is a Renaissance structure from the 16th century, transformed into a Neo-Renaissance style between 1862-1866. Now, after a complete renovation in 2011, it serves recreational purposes. It is open to tourists and houses a charming café where the staff speaks Polish, and it is surrounded by the remarkable Muskau Park, which we have described previously on odkryjlubuskie.online - we invite you to read that article!

The castle's architecture, utilizing the foundations of a medieval water castle, includes unique features like varying widths of the side wings and remnants of old bastions. Currently, it houses the Fürst Pückler Foundation headquarters, an exhibition dedicated to Prince Pückler-Muskau, and an educational center. The castle courtyard opens up to the park, and the southern tower offers views of Łęknica and Muskau.

As mentioned, the castle is located within the Muskau Park, which straddles the Polish-German border and is renowned for its picturesque paths, romantic bridges, and waterways where one can relax on scenic meadows.

Muskau Palace is a true gem among the landmarks in the Lubusz Voivodeship, definitely worth visiting for a romantic weekend with a loved one or a family picnic with children.

A convenient paid parking lot is located not far from Muskau Castle on the German side, just after crossing the border bridge on the right. You can also park in Bad Muskau itself, though nearby areas have limited parking time and require a parking disc.

Next to the Palace runs the Oder-Neiße Radweg bicycle trail, which you can take along the Lusatian Neisse River down to Zittau passing through Pieńsk and Zgorzelec to the south or reach Forst, then continue north to Guben.
